The Cape Town City Ballet has presented performances to schools for over 40 years, and in the past 15 years the Outreach Programme has reached over 162,000 through these visits to schools. The current presentation, STEP BY STEP, is skills based and offers subject material for learners and educators. The presentation is both educational and entertaining and aims to develop an understanding and appreciation of dance. For many, it is often the first time that they experience the joy and the magic of a live dance performance.
Following on from these visits schools are invited - through the Audience Development Programme - to attend performances by the CTCB in the main theatre venues.
CTCB visits schools in Gugulethu and Khayelitsha.
