Queen at the Ballet

6- 15 July 2006
Point Theatre, Dublin, Ireland

Bovim’s tribute to Queen, arguably the greatest rock band in history is more than just a ballet, it’s an evening of fine musical performances, a stage extravaganza, a fashion show and a vibrant celebration of dozens of
different dance styles.

The music for this season will be conducted by Michael Hankinson and Freddy Mercury’s vocals will be interpreted by the suavely tuxedoed Duncan Royce and Luciano Zuppa. South African abstract artist Tay Dall’s visually striking sets complement costumes, which range from Levi’s to super-glam evening gowns designed by some of Cape Town’s hottest designers – Gavin Rajah, Craig Port, Christiaan Gabriel Du Toit and Malcolm Kluk. Classical ballet, jazz, contemporary dance and even some impressive gymnastic moves are fused in Bovim’s distinctively athletic, inventive style and all of this fills the massive space of the the Point Theatre creating a feast for all the senses.
