30 September - 9 October 2004 Artscape Opera House The world premier of Queen at the Ballet will showcase the diverse and exciting talents of the Cape Town City Ballet, incorporating various dance styles, spectacular visuals and the incredible sounds of one of the best-loved rock groups ever known, Queen. Accompanied by the Cape Philharmonic and special guest vocal artists, Duncan Royce, Luciano Zuppa and Zanne Stapelberg Cape Town City Ballet's new work will take the audience on a nostalgic and up-lifting journey through music and dance. Capetonians can be
prepared to be left breathless by the sheer size of this production, the shimmering costumes, slick, fast-paced choreography and foot-tapping music, all on the Artscape Opera House stage. "This new work will be the greatest and most exciting of all my works to date" says choreographer Bovim of his work "and I want to give Cape Town audiences an evening they will never forget". This season features the entire Cape Town City Ballet, The Cape Philharmonic and members of the Cape Town Opera Chorus.
